About Kristi's Caring Hands: Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education
At Kristi’s Caring Hands, every life matters—no matter how small, feathered, or furred. Based in Northern Virginia, this grassroots wildlife rehabilitation and education effort is the heartwork of Kristi, a licensed wildlife rehabber with a lifelong passion for animals and a soul rooted in compassion.
Kristi has dedicated her days (and many sleepless nights) to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife. From baby squirrels found cold and alone, to owls struck by cars, to opossums tangled in the chaos of urban life—each animal that enters her care is given the time, love, and treatment they need to thrive again in the wild.
What sets Kristi apart isn't just her knowledge and skill—it's the story she sees in every set of eyes. She doesn’t just heal animals; she tells their stories. On her social platforms, she invites followers into the rescue journey—sharing photos, updates, and the emotional highs and lows of wildlife rehab. Her transparency and tenderness turn followers into family and every post into a lesson in empathy and stewardship.
Kristi’s mission is two-fold: to save Virginia’s wild lives and to educate the public about living in harmony with our wild neighbors. Whether she’s teaching children how to respect wildlife or helping a family safely reunite a nest of baby squirrels with their mother, Kristi’s goal is always the same—to nurture compassion and protect the wild ones we so often overlook.
With nothing more than grit, heart, and a pair of gentle hands, Kristi’s Caring Hands continues to make a difference—one rescue, one release, and one story at a time.
